Terms of Service
Effective: June 2025
By installing the TermWorks CLI or using term.works, you agree to these terms. If you're using TermWorks on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.
1. What TermWorks is
TermWorks is a terminal plugin that shows developers contextual opportunities — job listings, sponsored tools, and startup roles — based on their command activity. Developers earn a share of ad revenue for every verified impression. Advertisers pay for access to this audience.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. TermWorks is intended for real developers doing real work. Accounts that exist solely to generate impressions (automated scripts, VMs running fake terminal activity, click farms) are prohibited and will be permanently banned.
3. Developer accounts
You earn a share of revenue for each verified impression — an opportunity shown to you while you were genuinely active in a terminal session. Earnings are subject to a validation period of up to 30 days, during which we check for fraud signals. We reserve the right to withhold or reverse earnings from impressions we determine to be invalid.
Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings. We will issue a 1099 if required by US law.
We may adjust the payout rate over time as the platform grows. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.
4. Advertiser accounts
Campaigns must be submitted for review and approved before going live. We may reject or pause any campaign at our discretion, including for misleading content, prohibited categories, or poor landing page quality. Rejected campaigns are refunded minus any impressions already delivered.
Prohibited campaign content includes: adult content, gambling, illegal products or services, malware or deceptive software, cryptocurrency schemes, and anything that violates applicable law.
You are responsible for ensuring your campaign complies with all applicable laws, including employment advertising regulations for job postings.
5. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Generate fake impressions or clicks through automation, scripts, or coordinated activity
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the TermWorks API
- Share your account credentials or install IDs with others to inflate earnings
- Interfere with other users or the integrity of the platform
- Use TermWorks in violation of any applicable law or regulation
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may stop using TermWorks at any time by running termworks uninstall.
Upon termination, any validated earnings that have cleared the review period will be paid out. Pending or flagged earnings may be forfeited if the account was terminated for fraud.
7. Disclaimers
TermWorks is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee any specific level of earnings, impression volume, or campaign performance. Earnings depend on your terminal activity, campaign availability, and validation outcomes — all of which can vary.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TermWorks and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including lost earnings, lost data, or business interruption.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of TermWorks after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
